Group consultations project
Today I am incredibly proud to say that my work has been published in the Lifestyle Medicine Journal 📔 In this project, I designed and ran a course for a group of patients to explore how they might implement lifestyle changes in their lives and see the effects. We found that after attending the course, patients’ wellbeing improved, they lost weight and felt more confident and motivated to make positive changes in their lifestyles, which was really great to see. 11th January – Go for a run
Go for a run (or get active anyway you like!) I was sooooooo pleased to see that the ice & snow had melted and it was safe enough to go out for a run – I am always impressed when I see people out running when it is snowy and icy, but I am way too much of a scaredy-cat and just end up looking like Bambi on ice. 9th January – Get outside in nature
🌱Spending time in nature has been shown to be an effective way to improve feelings of wellbeing. There is evidence that spending time in nature increases serotonin levels – which is commonly referred to as the “happy hormone”. 👩💻An article from 2019 suggested that if we spend more than 2hours a week out in nature, wellbeing scores are significantly improved. Interestingly, it doesn’t matter whether people get their 2hours a week all in one go, or in multiple smaller doses of being outside, the benefits are still just as good.
