Take a moment to be mindful and think about what went well today. When we think about our day it’s easy to jump to the things that went badly or less well. Maybe you ate all the things you said you would avoid, maybe you didn’t do your workout, maybe you didn’t get out for a walk, or you didn’t manage to tick off all the things on your to-do list. Morning quiet time.I really cherish my calm and quiet time in a morning, after I’ve got up, put the coffee on and after the cats are fed, but before the kids are up.I usually do a mindfulness practice, sometimes I might also do a bit of yoga or stretching, or I might just sit and reflect with my coffee.It’s a little oasis of time to focus and collect myself for the day before the whirlwind of the day starts.It’s a very small habit I added to my routine a long time ago, but it makes a big difference to the day.Where could you add a few minutes of quiet mindfulness…
A moment of mindfulness
It’s time for a moment of mindfulness…Right now. Stop what you are doing and bring your busy brain back from wherever it is, to this moment, right here, right now. Notice how you are feeling. Notice how you are breathing. There you are. One of the great things about mindfulness is that it doesn’t have to be a big deal. Whilst I totally love my daily morning 10min practice, and relish any opportunity to do a longer practice, it can be a right pain trying to fit everything in to the hectic-ness of life at the moment.
