What went well today?
Take a moment to be mindful and think about what went well today.
When we think about our day it’s easy to jump to the things that went badly or less well. Maybe you ate all the things you said you would avoid, maybe you didn’t do your workout, maybe you didn’t get out for a walk, or you didn’t manage to tick off all the things on your to-do list. But when you focus on all those things that weren’t quite how you wanted them, it’s so easy to fall into a negative spiral.
Take a moment to think about what did go well. It doesn’t have to be a big thing, just bring to mind some of the positives from the day. For example, speaking to a friend for a brief catch up, enjoying the bright winter sunshine on the school run, even a seemingly everyday activity such as getting a load of washing done is an achievement. Think about what went well in your day, then notice how that makes you feel – calm, content, maybe even happy? Sit with that feeling a while.
